| UNION HAUNTING - Personal Tribulation of DEZ |
| This is the personal tribulation of Dez who is an active member of the PARA-FORUM. |
| "Fifteen years ago, my husband and I lived in a malevolently haunted house. Not long after we moved away from that house, a very dear friend and her family lived through a profoundly horrifying haunting of their own, and I shared many of their experiences first-hand. Although I am one of those folks who has had "strange experiences" all of my life, the experience of these two intense hauntings ultimately caused me to devote a great deal of my spare time to reading, surfing the Internet and doing other research in hopes of finding an answer over the past many years. I was scrolling through some true experiences on the "Shadowlands" (Dave Juliano's site) about two years ago, when Steven's story caught my attention. The sincerity behind Steven's story struck me -- he was not seeking attention for himself, and he did not embellish or glamorize the story. It was clear that this was the experience of a man who previously had no reason to believe in hauntings, who was confused and upset by his experience, and who was worried and angry because unexplained and apparently malevolent phenomena were causing serious emotional and physical harm to those he loved. He was not looking for an interview in the National Enquirer. He was not trying to get on the Jerry Springer show. He was looking for answers, for a solution, for help. Here was a rational person looking for a rational answer to something that was not rational at all, yet it was real, and affecting himself and those he loved. In between the lines, I could see that he was looking for verification that he was not crazy, that he was really experiencing these things, and hoping that he would be believed. It was almost like I was reading my own words. So I responded to the email address that he posted, and I said something to the effect of, "I don't know how much I can help or what I can do, but I have been through a couple of malevolent hauntings, and I see dead people too, and I believe you, and you are not crazy." We began to correspond, and so did several other people, and soon Steven had an online group going, and soon people began to share pictures from the Union house. What has affected me the most about the photos, EVPs and stories of the Union house is that these things have an intensity that is so strong, it can affect a person several hundred miles away just by viewing the pictures or hearing the EVPs. I am not a highly suggestible person -- my first reaction to anything weird is to look for a bad foundation, air in the plumbing, raccoons in the attic, headlights from the highway, ANYTHING normal which could have made that noise or shadow. Even though I have never been to the Union house, I have reacted profoundly to many of the images and audio captures from this home. I have become physically nauseated, experienced headaches, and picked up on such malevolence that I had to shut off the computer, leave the room, and even leave my house for awhile to clear my head. I have looked at countless ghostly images captured on film and listend to a zillion EVPs. Sometimes photos and EVPs from other locations give me a chill, but nothing but the Union house has affected me so profoundly. I have no idea why. While I accept the presence of spirits of the dead, I am ordinarily highly skeptical of claims of demonic obsession or possession. I think that far too many active hauntings are too quickly classified as demonic. I have always believed that nearly all hauntings, no matter how intense, are manifested by dead people who have failed to make the passage to the other side and who are trying to get our attention here in the real world. Perhaps it is a murder victim whose killer got away with it, or whose body was never found, and who needs closure. Perhaps it is an unhappy spirit who died before important life tasks were complete. Maybe it's someone who just does not realize they are dead. But I do believe that most hauntings are just plain old dead people, and I have experienced a few animal ghosts as well. I don't believe that the Union house is simply one or more unhappy dead people. I do believe that spirits of the dead are trapped in the vortex of the Union House, but I believe that the cause of the activity at the Union house goes far beyond a group of dead folks. I believe that the Union house is possessed by a profound, powerful and very dangerous evil presence. I do not believe that this house is fit for humans or companion animals to live in. I do not believe that this house is fit for cockroaches to live in! I am not even confident that it is safe to rent out for storage space. I am glad that Lorraine Warren is involved at this point, and I hope that the house remains unoccupied, forever. Board it up and leave it to rot. If I were the landlord, I would donate it to the fire department for a training burn, except that I would be afraid that a firefighter trainee would be hurt -- not by the flames, but by what resides within.
