Be a Ghost Hunter for a night while investigating Missouri's most haunted castle and one of the most haunted locations in the Mid-West. Search for the unknown during one of the first ever public overnight investigation of the same location and with some of the investigators featured in the paranormal documentary "Children of the Grave" which has aired on SyFy (previously Sci Fi) Channel many times since 2008. Originally built around 1911 by the Knights of Pythias for use as a home for widows and orphans where dark hidden secrets and tragic events went untold for years. The Castle later became part of the Army's O'Reilly Hospital Complex in 1942 and served as the Service Club for enlisted men. It was during this period that the Castle also started serving a plethora of unexplainable activity. During WWII the O'Reilly Complex also housed three or more wards of POW's. Many of them were interrogated within the walls of the Castle and tales from visiting veterans over the years sometimes tell of "not so happy" endings. In 1947 the Castle became part of the Veterans Administration 500 bed tuberculosis hospital until 1952 when vacated. From that time forward it served as many uses until being bought by the current owner in 2003. With it's eloquent charm, mystic atmosphere, mysterious past, lovely hosts and an abundance of occurring unexplainable events; this is one place that you want to add to your "places to visit before you pass on" list. When you indulge yourself within this building once, you will find yourself with an addiction to return multiple times to experience more of what it has to offer. A pre-investigative meeting and tour will start at 7:00 p.m. to present the historical & haunted history of the Pythian Castle. Then the all night investigation will begin between 8 and 9 p.m. and conclude at 4 a.m. A midnight snack will be provided. I Spend the night investigating the other side at the Mineral Springs Hotel in Alton! Join the members of Paranormal Task Force in their public investigation of this mysterious hotel with an abundant amount of ghostly encounters. With the property originally dating back to the 1880’s as a meat packing company, the owners discovered a natural spring underground in 1910. With this new discovery, the plant was converted for water bottling. The water from the mineral springs was shipped to customers throughout the country with over 100 bottles being sold every day. The owners decided to capitalize even more on the springs, they built a hotel, opening in 1914, on top of the water plant with two pools pumping mineral water into them. These springs created “curing powers” for those who swam in them. It’s estimated that over 3,000 people a year would come to Alton for the healing waters in those pools. The hotel thrived for more than 40 years till the 1960’s when belief in the curing powers declined. In 1971, the hotel closed and sat empty till it was purchased in 1978 and turned into a mall, which it’s still used as today. Since it’s closing over 40 years ago, the hotel has become less known for the “curing powers” of the mineral spring and more for its ghosts. Legend says that at least three ghosts still roam the halls of this once beautiful location. Do past guests still walk the Mineral Springs Hotel? Use the latest in paranormal equipment, explore this once extravagant hotel with experienced paranormal investigators, and collect your own evidence to prove they still do! All this is waiting for you at the Mineral Springs Hotel (currently the Mineral Springs Mall) in haunted Alton, IL! I Spend the night investigating a wondrous piece of old North St. Louis history! Join the members of Paranormal Task Force in their first ever public investigation of this historic and haunted location. Dating back to 1859 this row house setting originated as a prosperous corner Saloon and Boarding House with adjoining historic businesses which included a doctors office, candy store, photography studio, barber shop, realtor office and much more over the decades. Many boarders and those residing above the businesses passed away within these walls leaving their ghostly imprints to linger forever in this area devastated by cholera and other epidemics. In 1946 the Crystal Grill and Cafeteria was born at this historic location. Surviving many decades she served many meals to the blue collar workers in this once booming industrial area. She also served as a regular host to many of St. Louis' infamous as well including mob bosses John Vitale and Tony Giordano and other members of their gangs who spent many hours a day behind the Crystal's doors playing cards and conducting their business affairs. The Crystal served its last meal in 2008 before shutting its doors. A pre-investigative meeting and tour will start at 7:30 p.m. to present the historical & haunted history of the buildings. Then the all night investigation will begin between about 9 p.m. and conclude at 4 a.m. with light snacks provided.
