Local weather conditions for this investigation for the time period of 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. were partly cloudy, winds from the east/north east ranging from 8 to 10 mph, temperatures started at 45 degrees Fahrenheit and dropped to 41 degrees Fahrenheit by 12:00 a.m., dew point ranged from 23 to 25 for the duration of this investigation, barometric pressure ranged from 30.28 rising to 30.32 during this investigation. Relative Humidity Ranged from 42% rising to 50%. Lunar data was a Waning Gibbous Moon at approximately 80 percent Full. Solar X-Rays were normal and the Geomagnetic Field was a storm. This building was built between 1910 & 1920 and served primarily as a residence until approximately 1970 when it was converted for business use and remains as a business today. It is located in an area which is publicly known for its generalized haunting and is in close proximity of a cemetery. The business owner and employees reported varied unexplainable activity during the past 5 years which include hearing female voices from the basement area; doors being unlocked, open or closed on their own; reports of cold spots; foot steps heard by employees when no one else was in the building; a chain noise coming from the basement and the witnessing of a apparition resembling a little girl by some. Brought by Jodi; Samsung Mini DV Digital Cam w/Power Nite Pix Model # SCD27 Greg and Judy arrived first at this location at 6:30 p.m. and met with the owners and employees. They then conducted a base EM level sweep noting a higher than normal base of 3 to 5 milligauss levels with some areas peaking up to 10 milligauss. The rest of the MPR team members arrived at 7 p.m. to start the investigation. A lock down was conducted from 9:10 p.m. to 10:10 p.m. to allow equipment to capture video and audio without humans present in the building. Video cameras were placed; one on the second floor, two on the main floor and one in the basement area. A digital audio recorder was placed on the main floor and a motion sensor was placed on the interior stairway leading to both the basement area and the outside. Break out sessions were conducted from approximately 10:45 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. where the team separated into three different groups with one on the main floor, one on the second floor and one in the basement area with the lighting off to document further human and sensitive experiences and equipment readings. The investigation concluded about midnight with the team members briefing the client with a initial summary and procedures that will follow. 1. A closet door on the second floor violently shook in the presence of Judy, Melissa and Jody. 2. Unexplainable cold spots were experienced by some of the investigators. 3. Odors experienced included roses, wax burning and cigars. 4. A small object in the basement area was tossed across the basement by an unseen force during the breakout session. 5. A large object on a rotational pivot outside of the building rotated on its own for a notable period of time. Such object was too heavy to be influenced by any type of wind. 6. Banging noises were heard coming from the basement by the owner and employees while investigators were in the basement conducting EVP sessions. Noises were not heard by the investigators in the basement nor were they on the audio recordings captured at the time. 7. A small chair on the main floor moved on its own during the break out session. 8. An audio recorder activated on its own and had erratic operation while at the site. It worked fine before and after being away from the site. 9. A small object was moved on its own on the main floor during the break out session with the sound witnessed by multiple investigators present. 10. A moving shadow figure was witnessed by one or more of the investigators on the second floor. Several digital pictures, approximately 8 to 10 hours of video and several hours of audio were collected during the investigation. All collected video, pictures and audio are in need of further analysis to determine potential evidence. Preliminary Analysis Preliminary analysis of audio recordings from digital audio recorders show some remarkable segments which will need to be further analyzed. Some confirmed EVP extractions have been completed. Some notable pictures were also captured which need further analysis. Final Analysis & Results A total of 19 notable EVP's were captured by investigators and are now posted. Two notable photographs were captured of visual orbs which were seen with the naked eye as a small ball of light. Other mentionable photographs were captured, however potential explainable causes exist for them. All notable and mentionable photographs are also posted on this site. Video cameras produced no visual evidence, however noises such as bangs and thumps were captured during the lock down period in which no humans or animals were present inside the building. It is the opinion of MISSOURI PARANORMAL RESEARCH that enough unexplainable evidence in combination with human experience was captured and/or experienced to substantiate the possibility of an actual haunting or paranormal activity. Follow up investigation(s) will have to be conducted to further document specific activity and to attempt the possible collection of additional evidence.
