Also, the owner, two employees and an ex-employee of this private business were in attendance along with Vanessa, a local Psychic Medium, and her husband. Local weather conditions for this investigation for the time period of 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. were partly cloudy, winds from the NW shifting to NE east ranging from 5 to 10 mph, temperatures started at 77 degrees Fahrenheit and dropped to 65 degrees Fahrenheit by 12:00 a.m., dew point ranged from 42 to 45 for the duration of this investigation, barometric pressure ranged from 29.87 rising to 29.95 during this investigation. Relative Humidity Ranged from 32% rising to 43%. Lunar data was a Waning Crescent Moon at approximately 22 percent Full. Solar X-Rays were active and the Geomagnetic Field was unsettled. This building was built between 1910 & 1920 and served primarily as a residence until approximately 1970 when it was converted for business use and remains as a business today. It is located in an area which is publicly known for its generalized haunting and is in close proximity of a cemetery. The business owner and employees reported varied unexplainable activity during the past 5 years which include hearing female voices from the basement area; doors being unlocked, open or closed on their own; reports of cold spots; foot steps heard by employees when no one else was in the building; a chain noise coming from the basement and the witnessing of a apparition resembling a little girl by some. Since our first investigation of March 18, 2006 the owner and employees reported that a toaster came on by itself and voices have been heard in a hallway and rooms near the front door with no one else present in the building, Brought by Greg of MPR; Cell Sensor EMF Detection Meter, La Crosse IR-101 Infra-Scan IR Thermometer, Panasonic RR-US360 IC Recorder, Sony DSC-F828 8.0 Mega pixel Digital Still Camera (Cybershot), Sony CCD-TRV-98 Camcorder with 17 hour battery, Sony HVL-IRM IR Light for above cameras, Radio Shack motion sensor alarm, ghost catchers/wind chimes and an Engineer Directional Compass (Standard Magnetic Type) Brought by Terry of MPR and G&H in MO; Extech 403250 Laser Thermo Meter, Camcorder, Sony CCD-TRV-98 with optional Sony HVL-IRC Range extender for outdoor night use & 17 Hour batteries, EMF meter, hand held Multi detector Pro. made in Germany, Tri-Field Natural EM Meter with audio alarm & illuminated for night work. Greg and Judy arrived first at this location at 6:00 p.m. and met with the owners, employees and other guest of the owners which included Vanessa who is a local psychic medium. It was learnt that Vanessa arrived about 5 p.m. and toured the building then cleansed the site for negative energy and our teams safety then left prior to 7 p.m. Judy also left prior to 7 p.m. due to previous commitments and returned for the last hour of the investigation. The rest of the MPR team members arrived at 7 p.m. to start the investigation. Equipment placement was directed by Terry in preparation for a lock down while sensitive investigators conducted their investigation. A complete lock down was conducted from 9:30 p.m. to 10:45 p.m. to allow equipment to capture video and audio without humans present in the building. Video cameras were placed; two on the second floor, one on the main floor and one in the basement area. Two digital still cameras were used in an interval function where they automatically took a picture every 60 seconds. One was placed on the first floor and the other in the basement. Wind chimes were utilized in the basement and on the second floor and placed in view of the video cameras. Terry's Tri-Field Natural EM meter was adjusted for placement on the second floor within view of a video camera. A initial EM sweep was conducted by Terry to obtain base readings. Base EM readings were similar to those of the previous initial investigation and the base readings ranged from 1 to 4 milligauss depending on the location with various areas spiking at higher levels due to electrical wiring and appliances. Also, the closet storage door which violently shook last investigation was unlocked and opened for this follow up. The investigation concluded about midnight with the team members briefing the client with a summary and procedures that will follow. 1. An employee who assisted in the unlocking and opening of the closet storage door which violently shook last investigation experienced illness type symptoms similar to those of chills and shivering associated with high fevers and the flu. Other investigators present experienced an overwhelming heavy type feeling with headaches. Note - this door has not been unlocked or opened since the new owner took over this business over 5 years ago. An adding machine which has been missing for over two years, along with some books were found inside neatly placed upon the floor. It was noted that the adding machine and books were not dusty while some other objects such as a box with carpet pieces and Christmas decorations contained a thick film of dust. Furthermore, the owner is the only one with a key to this closet area and has not unlocked or opened the door since becoming the new owner of this business over 5 years ago. Later during equipment placement for the lock down, Terry noted very erratic EM readings while adjusting his Tri-Field EM Meter for placement in this area. 2. An unexplainable odor was witnessed by some of the investigators while near the above closet storage area prior to lock down. It was best described as a musty damp smell or burnt smell by those present. The odor came and dissipated quickly and no explainable source was found. Several digital pictures, approximately 8 to 10 hours of video and several hours of audio were collected during the investigation. All collected video, pictures and audio are in need of further analysis to determine potential evidence. Preliminary Analysis Preliminary analysis of some of the audio recordings from digital audio recorders show some remarkable segments which will need to be further analyzed. Some notable pictures were also captured which need further analysis. Video will take some time to complete a preliminary analysis. Final Analysis & Results A total of 2 notable EVP's were captured by investigators and are now posted. An interesting photograph of an anomalous shadow was captured and is also posted. Video cameras produced no evidence. It is the opinion of Missouri Paranormal Research that enough unexplainable evidence in combination with human experience was captured and/or experienced again on this follow up investigation to substantiate the possibility of an actual haunting or paranormal activity. With the combination of evidence captured in both the original and the follow up investigation it can be further stated that MPR believes that is location is experiencing actual paranormal activity. Furthermore, sensitive investigators and the visiting psychic experienced the presence of spirits within this building from its past. Further consultation will have to be conducted with the owner concerning these experiences and related activity. Gregory Myers, Administrator Missouri Paranormal Research |
